APTIM Junior Accountant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Job Summary:

Compiles and analyzes financial information. Develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, reports, and presentations. In addition, any other duties assigned or required.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciles accounts.

  • Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.

  • Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.

  • Performs variance analysis between actuals and budget.

  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.

  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

  • Follows accounting rules and procedures.

  • Works under general supervision. Reports to a supervisor or manager.

  • May perform all functions involved in the financial close process.

  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Looking for a high energy candidate with bachelor degree in accounting

  • 0-2 years of related experience desired

  • Construction accounting/project controls experience a plus

  • Knowledge of JD Edwards

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
