APTIM Environmental Scientist (temp) in LaPlace, Louisiana
This is a temporary assignment beginning 6/1/18 through 9/28/18.
Support senior level scientists performing ecological field sampling in the southern Louisiana wetlands (primarily swamps and brackish marsh types) for the Coast-wide Reference Monitoring Program.
The successful applicant will receive field experience / training in performing wetland vegetation surveys and soil pore water sampling.
Collection and interpretation/evaluation of scientific data
Scientific Data Entry and Field Data collection pertaining to the Coast-wide Reference Monitoring Program
Communication of technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, reports, etc. via oral presentations; and ensures conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures.
Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science or related Science degree
Must have Good oral and written communications skills
Will perform work in adverse weather conditions on the field (Work in hot/cold environments, inclement weather)
Develops competence in own area by performing routine work.
Has basic knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in a discipline or skill.
Applies knowledge and skills to complete own work.
