APTIM Civil Superintendent in Lemoore, California

Assignment Description:

Looking for LOCAL candidate for long term role in Lemoore, CA on military fueling facilities as part of the Navy programs. Candidate will be the civil superintendent for the project field activities onsite. Must ensure all construction is in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards.

Scope includes, but is not limited to, the demolition of existing fuel storage tanks, abandonment of associated distribution piping, and the provision of new fuel storage tanks, pumphouse, distribution piping and incidental related work.

Qualifications/Competencies/Experience:

  • 10 years of construction related experience

  • Experience with trenching operations for pipeline installation including excavation, shoring, bedding installation, compaction, backfill, etc.

  • Experience with clearing and grubbing activities needed to support the project.

  • Experience with demolition of above ground and below ground tanks

  • Experience with site set up including clearing, grading, construction trailer set up, temporary fencing, permanent fencing, etc.

  • Experience with precast concrete pile fabrication, installation of test piles, pile testing and installation of production piles

  • Experience with concrete tank foundations and spill containment including liners, concrete floor installation with cast in place containment walls and joint sealant installation for jet fuel service.

  • Experience with erection of pre-engineered metal buildings

  • Experience in the 3 phase QC process required by the project

  • Ability to provide safety leadership on the project site in all activities. Will be responsible for working safely on the jobsite and providing direction to all personnel on the jobsite concerning safe work practices.

  • Perform material takeoffs as required to confirm material, equipment, and personnel are onsite as needed to complete the work according to the project schedule.

  • Monitor project schedule and provide input to the CB&I field team on improvements, challenges, and needs relating to project schedule.

  • Fluent in English both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities:

Implements the construction portion of the assigned project through day-to-day direction of all field activities and is responsible for all job site activities. Ensures timely and efficient execution of field work. Is the primary client contact for all project field activities. Ensures all construction is in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards. Functions as a field manager on an engineering/procurement/construction management project. Develops project metrics and daily burn rates. Manages site resources. Manages SOW by identifying change conditions. Instrumental in developing and adhering to execution plan.
