APTIM Quality Control Technician in Lemoore, California
Looking for LOCAL candidate for long term role in Lemoore, CA on military fueling facilities as part of the Navy programs. Candidate will be a Quality Control Technician for the project field activities onsite. Must inspect all construction activities to ensure work is in compliance with design specifications, is built to quality standards, and is accompanied by appropriate documentation to support submittal to the client.
Scope includes, but is not limited to, the demolition of existing fuel storage tanks, abandonment of associated distribution piping, and the provision of new fuel storage tanks, pumphouse, distribution piping and incidental related work.
Experience with mechanical design, drawings, and specifications
Mechanical Engineering degree or coursework
Ability to be certified as a welding or coating inspector
Ability to be certified in the 3 phase QC process required by the project
Ability to participate in safety practices on the project site. Will be responsible for working safely on the jobsite and providing feedback and observation to other workers through the TARGET program.
Review material takeoffs as required to confirm material, equipment, and personnel are onsite as needed to complete the work according to the project schedule.
Participate in 3 phase QC process (preparatory meetings, initial meetings, and final review)
Monitor project performance and provide input to the field team on improvements, challenges, and needs relating to project performance.
Perform inspections, material receiving, and document reviews.
Prepare client submittals and reports for acceptance by the Quality Manager.
Fluent in English both verbally and in writing.
Works under the supervision of the Quality Manager as assigned through day-to-day direction of all field activities.
Ensures timely and efficient execution of all assigned field work.
Provides Quality Control support for all project field activities.
Ensures all construction is in compliance with design specifications, and meets quality standards.
Tracks project metrics and daily burn rates. Performs inspections, document reviews and other duties as assigned.
