APTIM Project Controls Planning Engineer (Scheduler P6) in Niskayuna, New York

Job Overview:

The Planning Engineer/Cost Scheduler reports to the Site Manager in support of the Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) efforts at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, New York as a part of a joint venture with BWX Technologies to form BWSR. BWSR is the Decontamination, Decommissioning, and Demolition (D&D) sub-contractor for the Naval Reactor Facilities within the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory performing the remediation of legacy nuclear and environmental materials on site. The main project areas at the site include remediation of historical research facilities, demolition of buildings, and characterization of site-infrastructure to support on-going maintenance and construction.

This position is responsible for managing complex, multi-year projects through identification and completion of critical path and parallel work activities to achieve optimum performance. The Planner/Scheduler develops the resource loaded schedule, monitors project progress, and reports status in accordance with an Earned Value Management System.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

+Develops project cost estimates and resource loaded schedules using Primavera 6

+Calculates earned value management reporting parameters based on input from the production group

+Prepares Monthly Financial Reports including Monthly Progress Reports

+Prepares estimates and proposals as required

Basic Qualifications:

+B.S. degree in Engineering, Science is preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Primavera 6 or similar software

+Experience in Construction/Demolition/Nuclear field Preferred

+Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy L Security Clearance

+US Citizenship is required: no dual citizenship

+Prior Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience preferred
