APTIM Project Controls Specialist in Plaquemine, Louisiana

Job Overview:

Project Controls Specialist needed to work in Plaquemine, LA at client site. Will be responsible for for specific tasks and scopes. Position will operate under the oversight of a Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Perform Cost Estimates

  • Conform Quantity Take-off and load into Earned Values Database

  • Perform Weekly Progress Updates and Manage the Earned Values Database

  • Understand Isometric Drawings and use of CAD modelling to view project details

  • Apply Basic EVMS Metrics: Productivity Factor, Cost Performance Index

  • Application of Cost Breakdown Structure and Scheduling Work Breakdown Structure

  • Manages a defined scope, schedule, deliverables and/or budget

  • Coordinates resources to meet short-term and long-term objectives

  • Demonstrates foresight to anticipate problems and delivers solutions

  • Explains difficult issues and obtains agreement

  • Interface with client and stakeholders to facilitate questions and meetings

  • Inspect documents for accuracy against policies and procedures

  • Identify and facilitate conflict and issue resolution

  • Produce status reports and coordinate with various departments to obtain information for weekly status updates

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 2-7 years of experience

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, and Word

  • Microsoft Project or Primavera P6

  • Detail-oriented

  • Effective communication skills

  • Professionalism, courteousness and ability to work within a dynamic office atmosphere

  • High level of initiative and ability to work in both individual and team environments

  • Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well

  • Must be able to work in a complex and fast moving environment

  • Background in Engineering, Applied Science, Construction Management or Business preferred.

  • Construction industry experience preferred.
